About the event
Yoga is at Apple Hill Lavender Farm - 1795 Windham Rd. 11 | on your way to Simcoe ( it won't allow me to add location )
I'm giving you three options here, if this sounds amazing to you and you're already ready to book becasue I sold you in one post then just book your spot. If you need you would like a short version of what this event/class is then read just below but if you need more questions answered as to what yoga nidra is then scroll a little further and get the longer version.
Short Version | A short yoga practice to give movement into the body and to allow you to let the mind relax as we tune into the breath. After the practice you will get settled into your mat and lay there as you let every muscle in your body relax and let your mind enter a different realm. You will be provided with essential oils to add to your experience. Simple version is a long shavasana, everyone's favourite part. After you will receive a cup of lavender tea and watch the sun set right from your yoga mat and will be able to soak in those little things around us. A thank you, you will also receive a little gift from myself.
Long Version | Explaning Yoga Nidra
What is Yoga Nidra?
Nidra, meaning sleep, is a deep relaxation form of yoga, and a technique to awaken the connection between body, mind, and soul. The practice is like a deep sleep while you are still awake.
What are the benefits of Yoga Nidra?
•relives muscular, emotional and mental tension
•relaxes mind by relieving stress & anxiety
•helps with insomnia
•trains the mind and helps with enhancing memory
•increase in energy levels
•heals some imbalances
•improves clarity
•improves senses and body awareness
•restores body and minds and reconstructs the whole personality from within
What happens during Yoga Nidra?
Described as “dynamic sleep”, the practice allows the body to deeply relax while the mind stays inwardly alert. The body sleeps while the mind is awake.
How do you practice Yoga Nidra?
This practice is similar to a meditation but not the same as in this practice you are laying down. Think extra long shavasana 🙌🏼 but you are guided through awareness of the body to keep your mind alert as your body completely relaxes so you can enter a different realm. All you have to do is listen to my voice.
What do I need to practice?
Anything that makes you comfortable, you can even do this from your bed. If you choose to practice on the floor then I recommend a pillow under your head and perhaps under your legs. I would grab a blanket as you want to keep your body warm so you get the full benefits.
What happens if I fall asleep?
That is okay because you will drop into a sleep-like state with relaxed brainwave activity. Slow alpha waves and even slower theta waves, produce deep relaxation and are the entry points to the subconscious. If you doze off then just come back to my voice when you come back to the moment.
How long is this class?
I have timed it for an hour but we will add a few small movements prior to as your body will be still for a while. After that the yoga nidra could be from 20-30 minutes then have tea provided after.
How will I feel after?
After the class you should feel relaxed with a clearer mind. Choose not to rush after the practice so you can stay in a relaxed state of mind.
Sorry for making this long but I hope I have covered majority of questions but if you have any more then please ask.
